An Introduction of Developing Technology of Basic Thai Classical Dance based on Android Smartphones

Abstract

This article reveals the findings from the survey about the students’ attitudes towards teaching media of dance which aims at developing technology to teach Basic Thai Classical Dance based on android system through smartphones. The informants of the study were 1st - 4th year students in the Department of Dance Education, the Faculty of Languages and Arts, University State Yogyakarta. The samples of the study were 71 students: 23 males and 48 females answering the questionnaire. This paper discussed the application of information teaching on Basic Thai Classical Dance through Android smartphones to develop teaching material with technology in accordance with learners’ need. Regarding the findings of the study, using the technology in teaching and learning process provides both advantages and disadvantages. Consequently, the researcher has to conduct further studies to find a suitable approach in applying technology in teaching dance in the future.
