Analysis of Social Mobility of Selected Sectors in Hyderabad – A Statistical View

Abstract

The change of profession / occupation from one generation to other is called Social mobility. Social mobility of a sector of population comprising of people from class-4 employment category, some selected traditional professions and some types of self-employment in Hyderabad is studied in this paper. For this study we collected primary data from the above-mentioned sectors of the population and analyzed the data using Markov chain models.
