Attitude as an Important Variable to Increase the Intention to Return to the Private University Library

Abstract

Research Question:This paper reveals the weaknesses of libraries in building good visitor attitudes towards the library in order to increase the intention to come back to visit the library. Motivation: the background of this research is based on the desire to measure students' perceived attitudes towards the library in order to be able to build the intention to visit again. Idea: An important idea that emerged was to convey the importance of building positive visitor attitudes through servicescape and service quality in order to build student intention to visit again. Data: This study uses a sample of university library visitors. Tools: PLS-based SEM with a quantitative approach and measurement scale from previous studies, used in this study. Findings: Servicescape is proven to be able to build attitude and intention to visit, whereas service quality fails to build attitudes. Servicescape is well-mediated in attitude if it is to build intention. Contribution: An important contribution given from this research, secicescape is more able to build attitude and intention than service quality.
