Abstract

Increasing teacher quality is one of the challenges in education development in Indonesia. The main issue of this study pivots around the issue of teacher quality, those who have yet to be creative enough in handling teaching and learning activities in school. This study aims to develop the training material based on the creative problem and independent learning. The study finding shows that the development of the training material based on the creative problem and independent learning involves all phases of the ADDIE model namely the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The researcher has formed a group of researchers to produce the Creative Independent Problem Solving (CIPS) training material. In this current work, the CIPS training material that has been produced, achieved content validity from three experts specializing in the field of teaching and learning. The study outcome reveals that the researcher has successfully produced the teaching material that stresses three main components of enhanced teacher quality. It is anticipated that with this training material, the level of creativity, independence, and teachers’ capability, especially those in remote areas in Indonesia, can be improved. With increased teachers’ capability in conducting creative teaching, it is hoped that the knowledge, skills, academic achievement, and creativity among students can continue to be enhanced.
