Abstract

Besides having physical skills, candidate physical education teachers also need to have good psychological well-being to enter the world of work and become professional educators. So far, references about integrated training to improve psychological well-being for candidate physical education teachers are still lacking. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ORIGIN training in enhancing the psychological well-being of candidate physical education teachers and strengthening the character.  The research method was quasi-experimental, where the intervention group was given pre-test, treatment, and post-test. This study uses a combination model of Mindfulness-Based Intervention (MBI), Cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is carried out through an online group therapy process and conditioning behavior in everyday life. The results showed that the mean psychological well-being in the pre-test was 3.605 with a standard deviation of = 0.484, while the mean psychological well-being in the post-test was 4.092 with a standard deviation of = 0.387. The results of different tests through t-test show a value of = -6,297 with p = 0,000 <0.01, which concludes that there is a significant increase in candidate physical education teachers' psychological well-being after being given the ORIGIN training. This training innovation can help implement a psychological well-being treatment model conducted online during the Covid-19 pandemic.
