Geometric Transformation in Content Based Image Retrieval – A Survey

Abstract

In today’s digital era, most of the information is in the form of images. So to find relevant
information from large available image dataset is a challenging task, which is focused by many researchers
since last two decades in the form of Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR). Many algorithms adopted for
CBIR to improve the performance but still there is scope to further improve retrieval performance by
considering deep learning with geometric transformation in CBIR. The purpose of this paper is to
categorize and evaluate different algorithms invented in this front during period 2000 to 2017. The paper
concludes with future directions for research in this research area for new researcher.
