Thermal properties of geopolymer composites – A Review
Abstract
Doing this review paper the idea is to present fundamental aspects of geopolymer innovations and science intending to demonstrate its applicability to withstand high temperature exposure. Starting the review with comparing the thermal properties of OPC versus geopolymer, further it explores character and occurrence of aggregates and supplementary phases. Characteristics essential for evaluating geopolymer thermal properties are thermal expansion, thermal conductivity, strength retention, explosive spalling along with micro-structural characteristics such as phase stability, weight changes (dehydration/rehydration), morphology changes and thermo-chemical properties were analyzed much in detail.
