Abstract

Through the field investigation and field observation, the thesis studies sandy land activity characteristics of the typical railway section from Tianyuan to Zhongwei across southern Maowusu sand; Sand damage and source is rich in Dingbian sections along the railway. Sand movement is mainly based on the coexist of mobile dune approaching line and sand flow activities. Psammophytes is diverse for desertification control. The average speed of bare mobile dune is 2.29 m·a-1 ; the average sediment transport rate of flat sand is 0.021 g/min within the scope from 0 to 50 cm high, where within the scope from 0 to 30 cm height, the sediment discharge accounted for 90.73% of the total sediment discharge. The thesis adopted comprehensive control measures “give priority to consolidation, combining engineering and plant measures”. The field observations shows that under the combined action of nylon grating sand prevention network in the early and late sand-fixation plant measures, the surface roughness increases, the wind speed near sand surface decreases, sediment discharge greatly decreases, and sand dunes get fixed. The combination of engineering and plant measures achieved good effect of railway sand damage governance.
