Covid 19: A Threat for Recession in Indian Economy

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the different factors that emerged after the COVID 19 outbreak, which might weaken the economic activities and drivea recession in thefuture. The pandemic has not only accelerated the crisis for many segments that were already suffering disruption but also ended the good run that some sectors were enjoying like the e-commerce sector in India that had been constantly gaining impetus much before the outbreak of the pandemic but suffered as a result of government restriction imposed on them.Furthermore, the study focuses attention on the current economic slowdown, global disconnects, lockdown, limited access, amendments and,  reforms introduced by the governmentas the major factors (that appeared after the pandemic outbreak) that may be a threat to the Indian Economy. These factors have created a fear of job amongst the employed as various multi-nationals are closing their operations these days. So, this research articlehighlights the conceptual aspect of COVID 19 withits impact on the Indian Economy
