Islamic Education Strategies of Mosque Management on Covid-19 Pandemic Prevention: Case Study at Al-Muhajirin Mosque, Bandung Regency

Abstract

This research is based on the importance of Islam education in the management of the mosque as a means of worship with all activities that have a muamalah dimension. Then it was associated with the covid-19 pandemic plague, then all activities in the mosque were stopped because it was feared that the mosque congregations would be affected by the coronavirus. Based on these problems, the purpose of this study is to determine the efforts and results of the management strategy of mosque congregations through value education in the prevention of the covid-19 pandemic in Al-Muhajirin Mosque, Bandung Regency. The method used in this research is a case study method with a qualitative approach. Efforts Islam education to manage mosque congregations to the prevention of the covid-19 pandemics by DKM and its staff through Deliberation, providing information, providing understanding, conducting prayers together in their homes, reminding each other between mosque congregations, and praying together for the covid-19 plague quickly disappear from the face of the earth. Evaluating Islam education, the management of mosque congregations to the prevention of the covid-19 pandemic, ritual worship activities in the mosque are replaced by their implementation in their homes, giving announcements to avoid the corona virus via WA, giving advice through the WA group. And the results of the last deliberation with all the management firmly stated that all worship activities were terminated including tarawih prayer and Eid al-Fitr, only call to prayer is permitted by one or two congregations of the Al-Muhajirin mosque. Mosque congregations and the surrounding environment are required to follow the covid-19 pandemic prevention instructions, utilizing: washing hands frequently, avoiding touching the face area, avoiding shaking hands and hugging, and not to share personal items, ethics when sneezing and coughing, cleaning furniture at home, keeping social distancing, avoiding gathering in large quantities, and washing food. The strategy of managing Al-Muhajirin Mosque congregations in carrying out ritual worship is to keep istiqomah in their respective homes and always keep the togetherness of congregations and always draw closer to God with various endeavors to prevent the covid-19 pandemic.
