Abstract

Ad-hoc NET-work(MANET) is an independent organizing and distributed Topology Technique, Mobile Ad hoc networks never follows a pre-determined infrastructure instead it allows for self-configuring network where a set of wireless hosts allowed to interchange or pass information. MANET holds a cluster of independent nodes where it could allow to change its links to other nodes at same instance frequently. Hence Multicast routing plays very important roles in the fields of communication network, co-operative works, querying, video conferencing, cyber database updating and, video on demand etc. This Research is entitled Intelligent Power-Efficient Multi-cast Routing Protocol (IP-EMRP) motivates the need for power management in ad hoc wireless networks. Need of our IP-EMRP arises by overcoming drawbacks over reactive and proactive routing and our protocol combines the good characteristics of these proactive and reactive protocols to make routing very much efficient and scalable one. We have analyzed that all different types of multicast routing algorithm with MANETs are having drawbacks such as delay variance, limited bandwidth, energy consumption, possibility packets loose, transmission overhead problem, limited bandwidth. In this novel research work with respect to save power and result in high speed infrastructure of MANET we have analyzed and discussed several multicast routing algorithms, we have shown simulation results using MATLAB by comparing our new protocol with  AODV,DSR.
