Exploring of Parents Cultivate the Independence and Concentration of Preschoolers

Abstract

—Early childhood is a critical period for the formation of young children's social behaviors and
abilities. Cultivation of the two most essential skills of independence and concentration is the key that
preschoolers can smoothly transition from kindergarten to primary education. Using well-defined content
analysis and interview method, the results obtained show that it is essential for nurturing the two skills;
parents hold different attitudes towards the cultivating of these two abilities and developing independence
and concentration strategies of preschoolers. The study has some implications for parents to do preschoolers'
school readiness better.
