Abstract

Managing the Supply chain system is a massive process due to its complex methods from handling raw materials to dispatching the products to the end-user. It is very much essential to provide authentication and maintaining integrity throughout the lifecycle of the shipment of goods. The purpose of issuing authentication is to assure, no intermediate affects the security that exists in the whole cycle. To avoid unauthorized access various cryptographic methodologies are used. Recently the approach of blockchain technology is increasing rapidly in various fields like finance, medical, insurance, and education, etc. Blockchain’s immutable nature provides any transaction with tamperproof. In our research, a secure framework model is proposed by applying blockchain using IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) algorithm in the supply chain networks to upgrade the efficiency along with scalability with low cost and high-security. IPFS using the content addressing method and all the information utilized is converted into cryptographic hash values for providing the authentication. Implementation results have proven the high performance with a rise in scalability added with greater security.
