Abstract

Azimuth multi beam SAR technology is an effective way to solve the problem that the mapping band is limited by system PRF in spaceborne imaging. Compared with the traditional single beam SAR, the PRF of the system can be greatly reduced, so that the spaceborne high resolution wide swath imaging can be realized. This paper describes the basic principle of range multibeam synthetic aperture radar system, and analyzes the ambiguity characteristics of multi beam spaceborne SAR. Compared with the conventional SAR, this paper proposes a method to calculate the range ambiguity of range multibeam SAR. In this paper, the implementation principle of spaceborne azimuth multi beam SAR is given. The selection of PRF and the influence of nonuniform reconstruction on system performance are analyzed. The simulation results show that the range multi beam SAR system can effectively reduce the range ambiguity and improve the imaging quality on the basis of realizing high resolution and wide mapping band.
