Abstract

There is a demand for quality improvement of education in the era of society 5.0. In this era, various learning and assessment processes were adjusted, especially those designed online. This research aims to determine the increase in students' critical thinking skills through the use of the e-assessment model. The quasi-experimental method with the one-group pretest-posttest design was used in this study. Students' critical thinking was measured using a critical thinking instrument with 15 questions about the mechanic's concept. The improvement of critical thinking skills was analyzed using the N-gain formula. The results obtained were differences in the improvement of students' critical thinking skills in each indicator. The highest increase was in indicators of providing simple explanations. In general, each indicator's increase in critical thinking skills is in the medium and high categories.
