Efficiency Analysis of the Effect of Radiation and Temperature on Photovoltaic Monocrystalline, Polycrystalline, and Amorphous Recorded by Data Logger Based on Arduino Mega 2560

Abstract

Photovoltaic is a tool to convert PV energy into electricity that is pollution-free and environmentally friendly, so that further research is needed in developing renewable technology. The output power produced by PV panels is highly dependent on the temperature and radiation characteristics of the PV. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of PV radiation and temperature on monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and amorphous PV. Data recording in this study uses a special data logger that can record data in real time per minute or second. The data logged by the data logger are real time, temperature, voltage and current. The results of experimental research show that at the same temperature of 51.88 ° C and solar radiation of 678.3 W / m2, monocrystalline PV panels produce a voltage of 24.79 V and a current of 5.57A, polycrystalline PV panels produce a voltage of 20.21 V and a current 3.5 A, and amorphous PV panels produce a voltage of 16.8 V and a current of 2.07A. From the research results it is also known that the efficiency of the monocrystalline panel is 27.7%, the efficiency of the polycrystalline panel is 14.99%, and the efficiency of the amorphous panel is 6.36%. From the data obtained and calculated, it can be concluded that monocrystalline panels have better output power and efficiency.
