IoT Based Smart Fitness Mirror

Abstract

The aim of the project is to design the real-time Internet of Things (IoT) based Smart fitness
mirror which can show advance functions like time, news, weather and consists of some sensors to check on
health and fitness. During these progressive times, people have become busy with their work which leaves a
great gap between their work and health. To fill this gap, people tend to rely on cheap and inaccurate health
applications that do not monitor on an accurate scale. The project has been designed for health monitoring
with cheaper apparatus currently available in the market. Smart devices for fitness like wearable fitness
trackers and smart fitness mirror have gained a new level of popularity due to their ability of data gathering
and analysis. The sensors data has been acquired and processed by the Arduino microcontroller and sent it to
the raspberry pi to show the collected data on the screen. The data is uploaded to an online database by using
blynk as the IoT platform. The performance of the developed data was evaluated by instability testing,
accuracy testing, software testing, IoT testing through application and data integrity testing and security
testing. It was observed that the smart mirror had the faster response while measuring processing and
displaying the data. Comparing the proposed system with the existing ones it is observed that the accuracy
of measurements and the efficiency of the system is remarkably higher. The successfully implementation for
the analysis of the fitness. the sensors were acquiring data with efficiency and high accuracy. The system is
fully integrated with IoT platform which allow monitoring of the user data in real time. The project will help
the user to stay motivated to keep their fitness and health. IoT based Smart fitness mirror will improve user
fitness and reduce the chance of a person to get sick.
