Abstract

In this paper the design of SRM drive for electric vehicle application by SPV (Solar Photovoltaic) system with energy control technique is implemented. Generally to avoid and reduce the emission of green house gases this system is introduced. For the applications of electric vehicles Switched reluctance motors (SRMs) used most widely. To decrease the reliance on batteries of vehicles, photovoltaic panels are used. Hence the strategy is controlled by using tri pot converter which will flow the energy from panel, battery, and SRM. In this there are totally six operating modes, in that four are used for driving purpose and two are used to charge the board. In these P&O (Perturb and observe) MPPT techniques is used to control the proposed system. It standstill the charging modes, a grid-connected charging topology is developed without a need for external hardware. When the PV panel directly charges the battery, a multi section charging control strategy is used to optimize the energy utilization. Simulation results based on MATLAB/Simulink prove the effectiveness of the proposed tri-port converter, which have potential economic implications to improve the market acceptance of EVs.
