Analysis on the Competitiveness of Cities and the Role of Urban Planning Based on Cloud Computing

Abstract

Since the formation of the concept of smart city, the global construction boom of smart city has gradually formed. The construction of smart city has become one of the important ways to enhance the competitiveness of the city and solve the problems of urban development. In the process of China's economy moving towards the new normal, smart city construction marked by Internet of things, big data and cloud computing has become an important driving force to improve the competitiveness of cities. This paper takes the city competitiveness as the research object and smart city as the focus. By combing the previous literature, this paper comprehensively summarizes the connotation, characteristics and theoretical framework of urban competitiveness and smart city. On this basis, it analyzes the mechanism of urban competitiveness based on “smart city”, which lays a theoretical foundation for empirical analysis. This paper constructs the urban competitiveness evaluation index system based on “smart city”, including four first level indicators, 13 second level indicators and 27 third level indicators, including infrastructure, scientific and technological innovation, environmental support, citizen quality and convenient life. This paper selects the key cities in China and makes an empirical analysis on the urban competitiveness of the sample cities by using the empirical analysis methods of factor analysis and cluster analysis. This study provides a reference for the research of urban competitiveness and urban planning based on cloud computing.
