Determination of Ideal Location for Placement of PSS in Multimachine System

Abstract

Stability of power system of concern these days due to the inter connection of the generating station causing the inter
area oscillations. These oscillations have to be eradicated because they can lead to the malfunctioning of the power
system. Power System Stabilizers (PSS) are connected to rectify these oscillations. Load flow analysis, stability
analysis and fault analysis are done to understand the test system critically and their result helps us in identifying
the best location to implement the PSS.. The aim of this study is to obtain an economical way to get the stable power
system. The proposed technique is applied on the 16 machine 68 bus with 86 transmission lines.
